If you haven’t yet felt the funk filled kung fu grip of local six peice powerhouse Fuji Collective, rest at ease for they shall be taking over The Vanguard on Thursday the 30th of April, slathering the walls with their own mental breakdown inducing brand of schizophrenic funk rock.
Sounding like some crazy mix of King Crimson, Pariament Funkadelic and Saturday morning cartoons, Fuji Collective have had Sydney siders rolling across the floors of many a venue for a good while now. Having honed their funky knife down to a razor sharp edge The Fuj, as they are affectionately known, deliver one of the most tight and exciting live shows this side of decency and good taste.
With two guitar masters, a six string bass guru, a drummer on the verge of a nervous breakdown and a horn section the likes of which hasn’t been heard since the days of Middle Earth, The Fuji Collective are not a band for the faint of heart. Delivering an electric booty shaking genre fusing frenzy that is sure to get you dancing to the brink of exhaustion, bring your dancing shoes and get ready to feel the funk.
Joined by Squid, this night promises to be a very speial occaison. Doors open at 8 and tickets are available through Moshtix.
