The Veronicas have hit out at the producers of Channel Nine’s Celebrity Apprentice again for allegedly painting the sisters in a negative light throughout the series so far.
For context, early last week, what appeared to be a brief tiff between Jess and Lisa Origliasso was aired. The next day, the sisters warned fans via social media to not believe everything they see. “Reality TV is highly edited out of ‘context’ to amplify drama and narrative that suits the agenda,” they said in a joint Instagram story.
Later in the week, they took to Twitter to publicly call the show out for allegedly selectively editing them yet again.
“Why are you not airing any of our wins & strategy for each task, only using the scripted drama you GAVE us as the only airtime /promo?” They wrote.
“Where’s all the footage where we pull through for our team /and for our charity? Why is all of that being edited out?”
Last night’s episode featured an argument between the sisters and a few cast members, including fashion designer Camilla Franks and MAFS‘ Martha Kalifatidis.
They have since reacted with a joint post to their Instagram story directed at the “crew and production” of the show.
“This open letter is not for the public, the public is going to form an opinion based off what you put in front of them,” they said. “This is for the crew and production involved in the show that knows the truth.”
“You signed us up for your show under the guise of charity and heart. Our genuine intentions and passion reduced to an edit — portraying us strong-arming other team members and outwardly using our mother’s condition for sympathy and manipulative tactics is disgusting.”
They then allege that the producers pressed them to discuss their mother’s illness throughout the episode. “You turn around and weaponised our words and our mummy’s name — turning them into a knife used to stab us in the heart. Shame on you.”
They described the alleged act as “gut wrenching, soul destroying and the lowest thing you could ever do to us as women, daughters and carers”.
The pair then took to Twitter to elaborate on their thoughts, again accusing the show of selective editing and gaslighting them.
The fact they have edited this to seem like emotional manipulation and blackmailing people for sympathy is awful. Being gaslit on an edit over something so close to our hearts is truly beyond comprehension. We are grateful there was money made for all the charities involved.

.@CelebApprentice the fact you edited out all the facts, so we become entitled brats – expecting favours and using our mums condition for benefit is truly the lowest you could have gone.
I hope you pay your editors well for the souls they sell.— THE VERONICAS (@TheVeronicas) June 1, 2021
We came on the show to raise money for charity and awareness for The Brain foundation. We didn’t need to do this show for exposure.
We signed on after they stressed & emphasised it would be a show with heart ; given we had to take physical time away from our mama to do it.— THE VERONICAS (@TheVeronicas) May 26, 2021
