The Weeknd Stars On American Dad, Debuts New Song ‘I’m A Virgin’

The Weekend is absolutely dominating at the moment, and now he’s dropped even more new music, debuting a new song on a special episode of American Dad.

The Canadian singer-songwriter actually co-wrote the episode with Seth McFarlane, and wrote a song especially for the episode with Asa Taccone.

The tune is called ‘I’m A Virgin’ and The Weeknd told Variety that he “always wanted to play a character that was the opposite of the public’s perception of me – and of course make fun of myself.

“I’m a long time fan of the show,” he said. “Once I was given the opportunity I took complete advantage. Joel Hurwitz believed in the vision and he helped execute it beautifully.”

When asked whether there are any other animated projects he’d like to work on in the future, he said he’d love to feature on a certain long-running Disney-owned series. “It’s going to be pretty hard to beat this in the cartoon world, but an obvious bucket list would be to work on The Simpsons.

“That would be a dream – and if they’re reading this, I actually have a pretty cool idea if they’re down,”

The episode itself sees The Weekend play himself, and the plot features Stan kidnapping the musician in order to teach Roger the Alien a lesson. The song itself goes for two minutes.

The Weeknd dropped his latest album After Hours in March, and singles ‘In Your Eyes’, ‘Heartless’ and ‘Blinding Lights’ have been lighting up streaming charts and radio all over the globe.
