The music video for The Weeknd’s new single ‘Take My Breath’ has been yanked out of IMAX theatres due to its ‘intense strobe lighting’.
The video was supposed to be screened in U.S. IMAX theatres ahead of showings of The Suicide Squad, but as Billboard confirmed, its lighting is too hectic and poses potential danger for those who suffer epilepsy.
The single, originally previewed as part of a Summer Olympics campaign for the U.S., is out this Friday.

‘Take My Breath’ follows on from the track ‘Better Believe’ in July, which featured Belly and Young Thug. This new single though, is taken from The Weeknd’s forthcoming fifth studio album – this record doesn’t have a confirmed release date, however.
The Weeknd’s been teasing his new era of music on Instagram since the ‘Take My Breath’ ad dropped and going by the looks, he’s continuing to indulge in some darker moods.
Back in May, he made it clear that he will continue to boycott The Grammys, after his smash album After Hours and ‘Blinding Lights’ were snubbed by the committee.
