Despite earlier claims to the contrary, promoter AJ Maddah has revealed there will not be a fourth headlining act named for the Soundwave 2015 lineup. The first official Soundwave lineup dropped this week, topped by big name acts Faith No More, Soundgarden and Slipknot.
When asked if the second announcement, due next month, would contain another headliner Maddah replied, “We went w Slash and [Marilyn] Manson instead,” cryptically adding, “Mind you, if the right band presents itself…”
The festival mogul has said that the “supplementary announcement” for Soundwave 2015 will arrive some time next month, with still “around 14 bands” left over for a second reveal. He also calmed any disappointment about the absence of headliner on the second announcement by telling a Twitter follower eager for some “old school metal” that “there’s a good one on the 2nd announce.”
Following this week’s news that headliners Faith No More and Slipknot will be exclusive to the festival and therefore won’t play Soundwave sideshows, Maddah has confirmed that FNM and co-headliner Soundgarden have been allotted 90 minutes each for their Soundwave sets. Expect the same for Slipknot.
UPDATE 3:01pm 22/08/14: When asked if there was time for a 2 hour Slipknot set at Soundwave, AJ Maddah said “They get to play for as long as they want,” adding, “Will back set length from curfew time.”
When asked if Slash would also be a festival exclusive, Maddah said he’d likely have no control of that. “You can’t keep that guy down! Even if it does end up becoming festival only, he’ll turn up at some small club!”
Members pre-sale for Soundwave 2015 tickets kicked off this morning at 9am local time and will continue until 6pm, Thursday, August 28 or until sold out. Tickets will then be made available to the general public on Friday, 29th August, also at 9am. Find out all you need to know about tickets right here.

Who's On The Second Soundwave 2015 Lineup?
-
Anti Flag1
Anti‐Flag: Asked if there’s a chance, Maddah simply smiled. -
The Ocean
The Ocean: With a planned Australian tour currently in limbo, AJ Maddah has come to the rescue and is in touch with the band. When a fan asked if they could be added to SW15, Maddah replied only with a smile. -
Exodus2010c1
Exodus: After AJ Maddah was informed that the band's longtime vocalist Steve Souza had returned to the band, the promoter responded, "I didn't know he was back! I'll call them tonight!" -
Relient K2009PressPic
Relient K: Asked point blank if there was any chance of seeing the Ohio rockers on the second lineup announcement, Maddah gave it a "maybe". Now he's confirmed he's chasing them big-time. -
Overkillphoto2012 2
Overkill: After a fan indicated that he was hoping for some more "old school metal" bands on the SW15 lineup, Maddah assured him, "There's a good one on the 2nd announce." When asked recently if Overkill, who unveiled their 17th album in July, would ever play Soundwave, Maddah replied with an enthusiastic, "Why not!" -
Millencolin
Millencolin: When the Swedish punk outfit was put forth to Maddah by a Twitter follower, the promoter replied only with a smile. -

The Pretty Reckless: There's more than a chance - AJ Maddah says Taylor Momsen and crew are still a 50-50 shot for the 2015 lineup. -
A Loss for Words 2
A Loss For Words: The band emailed Maddah, who looks keen to get them to SW15 before they disband next year. -
Falling In Reverse
Falling In Reverse: Announced as part of the lineup this morning by several outlets and in some cases still remain, though don't appear on any official Soundwave artwork. According to Maddah, "They didn't get us their paperwork in time and we had to pull them off announcement last minute." When asked if they'd make the second announcement, Maddah replied, "Hopefully." -
EvergreenTerrace
Evergreen Terrace: Another band that was initially announced by several outlets and still remains on the pages of some, though not on any official Soundwave channels. Maddah sent the hardcore outfit an enthusiastic invitation over Twitter last month and last said that he's "hoping to get them in for 2nd announcement." -
Halestorm
Halestorm: Fans wanted these Pennsylvania hard-rockers bad. One fan even offered up her first born for the chance to see them at Soundwave 2015 and Maddah had indicated that he was strongly considering them. They weren't on this morning's lineup. However, Maddah told one future mother, "Your first born is safe. For now." -
NC1006_COAL_CHAMBER
Coal Chamber: When Coal Chamber reunited back in 2011, they played their first shows since 2003 during Soundwave 2012. With the band now busy working on a new album to be released some time in 2015, Soundwave would be a natural fit to promote the record to Australian audiences. -
Sydonia
Sydonia: Maddah and the band's management seemingly worked the whole deal out via Twitter, telling the Brisbane-based Pricewar Music to get the band's details over to his people. If not added to the tour, the hard-working Melbourne progressive outfit could very likely make the cut as a local addition.
