Sophia Grace, an 11 year old english YouTube sensation who gained international notoriety thanks to Ellen DeGeneres, has just dropped a bona fide club banger with new girl power-inspired single Best Friends, complete with a rap interlude.
The track and its accompanying video feature the young rapper spitting some empowering versus in favour of friendship, fashion and all things BFF. Notable verses include, “Stupid boys come around/ Me and my girls shut em down” and “Nobody can stop us now/ Women take over we run this town.”
Controversially, at least according to fans on social media, it seems Grace has left behind her previous partner in crime and cousin Rosie McClelland. The pair originally caught Ellen’s attention with their covers of tracks like Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass and soon began to make regular appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
They eventually hosted their own segment, called Tea Time with Sophia Grace & Rosie and even visited Australia. Now though it seems Grace has gotten her taste for solo stardom and is flying solo, helped along it seems by some corporate Beats By Dre and K-Mart sponsorship.
This isn’t even her first single, as two years ago she dropped her debut solo single Girls Just Gotta Have Fun. Watch the ridiculously catchy new track below and try not to wallow about how little you may have accomplished in comparison.
Watch: Sophia Grace – Best Friends
How is it that Sophia Grace has a song called "Best Friends" and her trademark best friend Rosie isn't in it?!
