This Is How Much The Rolling Stones’ Aus Tour Has Made So Far

The Rolling Stones are rolling in it. New figures have been released which show just how much moolah the band’s current Australian tour is raking in. The iconic rockers’ rescheduled Aussie dates have seen huge numbers of fans in attendance, leaving a tremendous pool of cash to prove their continued popularity.

Data released by Billboard shows The Rolling Stones have raked in millions thanks to the success of their 14 On Fire tour. The figures reveal the tour’s impressive gross income for a number of its early shows.

The Stones’ 2014 Australian tour made USD$23,592,983 (AUD$26,920,337) between 25th October and 5th November, with the band playing to a total of 92,095 people, and that’s just over halfway through the tour!

The group’s Australian jaunt began with a sold out show at Adelaide Oval on 25th October, with 52,910 people in attendance. That show alone grossed USD$8.9 million (AUD$10.2 million).

Mick Jagger and co’s two-night stop off in Perth has been their highest grossing of the tour so far, with USD$9.8 million (AUD$11.2 million) in sales. With that total, The Rolling Stones became Perth Arena’s highest grossing tour of the year, beating out the likes of Katy Perry, Michael Buble and Bruce Springsteen.

The Stones’ Melbourne show at Rod Laver Arena on 5th November saw 12,262 fans dish out USD$4.8 million (AUD$5.5 million) for tickets, and was also named the venue’s highest grossing single performance of 2014.

The Stones’ were forced to cancel their performance at Hanging Rock, which was scheduled for 8th November, because Mick Jagger had a throat infection. The tour did make its way through Sydney and the Hunter Valley, although sales figures for those shows are yet to be released.

The band’s hefty insurance claim for their postponed Aussie shows has also reportedly been settled. As SBS have noted, a spokeswoman for Jagger says the band settled the legal battle before details of the claim were made public last week.

The Australian leg of the 14 On Fire tour will wrap up in Brisbane on 18th November, before heading over to New Zealand. Catch clips of The Stones’ playing live in Perth and Sydney, below.
