Social Distortion have revealed the title of their next record. “Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes” will the be the bands first album on Epitaph and should hit in November.
The Bronx have been added to the growing list of Soundwave acts for 2011. They join an already impressive list including Mad Caddies, Trash Talk, Less Than Jake, Blkout! and 30 Seconds To Mars. The full line up is scheduled for this week with internet rumours still suggesting the big head-liner this year to be Weezer. (For what it’s worth, I’m tipping a reformed Soundgarden)
Bad Religion’s new disc “The Dissent Of Man” is due out in September. The band are previewing one of the tracks ‘The Devil In Stitches’ here (http://soundcloud.com/epitaph-records/bad-religion-the-devil-in-stitches).
US punkers Horace Pinker touring in August have set up a special acoustic gig at the Town Hotel in Newtown on August 15th. The gig is free and kicks off at 6 p.m..
Iconic Sydney record store Utopia is moving back to the city near Town Hall on the corner of Kent and Bathurst Streets. The shop has been opened for business for 30 years and are celebrating with 30th anniversary shows this year. To coincide with the move, the store will have a relocation sale.
Guitar legend Slash will be recording his Australian tour to release as a limited edition album. On a side note, the rumour that Slash and bassist Duff McKagen will join Axl and Guns N Roses for their V8 gig is just that, a rumour. Duff is working on the new Janes Addiction album and Slash will still be promoting his solo album and touring.
Guttermouth return to Australia in October (PS how good is October shaping up with tours from Against Me and Alexisonfire already). For details head to www.newnoiseagency.com.au .
Finally in ‘that’s a bit f**ked up’ basket, Dutch hardcore band Discipline’s front man Joost de Graaf has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife and burning down their home. He was found semi conscious when the confession was made.
