Supergroup Atoms For Peace are about to embark on a massive world tour and they’re turning up the heat accordingly, with Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich revealing a previously unheard track, Honey Pot, during a DJ set on American radio station KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic show.
As the track started, Yorke says to Godrich, “I’m not supposed to say what it is, right?”, to which his co-host responds, “Well, no, I’m just saying don’t talk over it”. The pair then proceed to talk over it – hyuk, hyuk, hyuk. After the airing of dark, dreamy Honey Pot, Yorke confesses that the song was a remix of the Radiohead track All I Need from their 2007 album In Rainbows that had turned into a new song, which they didn’t know what to do with.
The duo are in the States to promote Atoms For Peace’s first full-length record, AMOK. The DJ set included tracks from The Beastie Boys, Charles Mingus, Joe Jackson and James Holden and can be heard in full over at the KCRW website. And if you missed it, be sure to take a peak at their recently released studio version of UNKLE‘s Rabbit In Your Headlights.
