Thom Yorke’s Mystery White Vinyl Is Tantalising

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has set the internet into investigation mode once again, posting a photo of an unknown white vinyl, spinning away on a Goldring Lenco GL75 turntable, on his Tumblr page early this morning (AEST).

There’s no caption attached to the image, and the post is headed ‘Untitled’, leading to speculation as to what the mystery vinyl might contain.

It’s likely we’re looking at a new Atoms For Peace release, given a little extra weight by Yorke’s Atoms For Peace bandmate Nigel Godrich also tweeting the same image.

Illustrations on vinyl sleeves in the upper right corner of the image (below) are the same as the artwork on Atoms For Peace official website.

Another theory is the vinyl consists of new solo material from Yorke, whose only unaccompanied outing to date is his 2006 record The Eraser. The unmarked vinyl could also contain compiled versions of “stems” thought to be Radiohead’s new material, which the band previewed earlier this month on an updated version of their PolyFauna mobile app.

Whatever the case it seems Yorke fans are in for some new material in the near future. Or, at the very least, months of tantalising Twitter tidbits.
