More sad news in the music community today, as three members of Ohio hard rock band CounterFlux – Devin Bachmann, 26, Earl Miller II, 27, and Kyle Canter, 23 – have been killed in an auto accident, local news outlet WHIO have reported.
Travelling with their friend Vashti Nicole Brown, all four were reportedly killed when their SUV was struck by a vehicle driving the wrong way down Dayton’s Interstate 75 in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The driver of the other vehicle, 61-year-old James Pohlabeln, was also killed in the incident.
Aleks Clayborn, the band’s bassist took to the band’s Facebook page to confirm the tragic the news, writing that:
“I’m sure most of you have heard by now, but for those of you who haven’t, we lost Earl, Kyle and Devin early this morning,” he wrote. “There’s nothing worse than losing friends, family or otherwise. These guys became like brothers to [drummer] Matt [Dennedy] and myself. Our hearts and prayers go out to their families, no parent should ever have to go through this, ever.
“These guys loved you, the fans, the friends, the family. And to honor them Matt and I have decided to finish the Album we started together. It will be a last Hoorah and one of the best things we can think of to honor our lost brothers.
“Please when you’re out at the bar, whether you’re playing a show, checking out a show or what have you, take a designated driver if you plan to drink, or call a cab. Your actions and choices affect more than just you and though a totaled car can be replaced a life cannot.”
