Holy shit! In the latest jaw-dropping surprise that Splendour In The Grass has dealt us this year, 49-year-old Aussie pop icon Tina Arena has appeared during Client Liaison‘s set tonight to perform a couple of tunes.
“We’d like to welcome to the stage a huge hero of ours. Shes the voice of our nation,” the duo announced before casually wheeling out one of the greatest singers in our country’s proud history.
National treasure Tina Arena materialised on stage during the indie dance act’s gig on the Amphitheatre Stage to belt out their original track ‘A Foreign Affair’.
But, for good measure, they also sent fans’ turntness levels sky-high with a rendition of the homegrown diva’s 1994 chart-smashing ballad, ‘Sorrento Moon’.
It comes after Dune Rats wheeled out Phil Jamieson for a cover of Grinspoon’s classic ‘Just Ace’ during their Splendour set on Saturday, and after Powderfinger blew everyone’s minds into the dirt by appearing as if by magic to perform their first gig together in seven bloody years.
If Savage Garden come out during LCD Soundsystem we swear to the festival gods our heads might legitimately explode.
