Tkay Maidza continues to prove herself as one of the most effortlessly versatile artists in Australia with the release of her new single, ‘Shook’.
The single is intentionally reminiscent of Missy Elliott, which tributes being made to the icon throughout the song’s music video, which was directed by Jenna Marsh. It is explosive, it is shamelessly fun and its crisp production is only outdone by Maidza’s playful yet fiery wordplay.
2020 has already been a huge year for Tkay. She was enlisted to support Princess Nokia on their European tour throughout March before certain dates were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, and she lent some samples to triple j Unearthed for their huge DIY Supergroup competition.
While she has been relatively tight lipped on details around new music, she did reveal on Twitter that she has two EPs in the works before she drops her highly anticipated second studio album.
