To celebrate the release of her debut self-titled album today, Tkay Maidza has announced that she’ll be signing copies of the record and performing a free surprise show in Sydney.
She’ll be heading down to Sydney venue Butter in Surry Hills for her surprise in-store show, with the action kicking off from 4pm.
The release of her debut album TKAY comes after Maidza progressively released a steady stream of bangers over the past few months, including Carry On featuring Killer Mike, her tennis shoe-themed track Tennies and more recently a huge George Maple collaboration titled Simulation.
“I wanted [the album] to be childish and playful because I wanted it to be kind of a school kid’s diary – so that’s what it is!” Maidza told Music Feeds earlier this month.
“I think a lot of the songs come from a sense of loneliness and wanting to belong somewhere. A lot of the songs are like, I have no friends but I’m fine! That’s the mindset I had.”
Following a slew of festival slots throughout the year, Tkay’s national headline tour also kicks next week in Brisbane.
