Tom Morello will replace Steven Van Zandt on Bruce Springsteen’s Australian tour in March, according to ultimateclassicrock.com. Van Zandt has made himself unavailable due to previous acting commitments. The guitarist will be in Norway filming the second season of Lillyhammer, playing an American mobster living in Norway.
This won’t be the first time Morello has joined the E Street Band, Over the past few years Morello has played with Springsteen on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon as well as two nights at Wrigley Field in Morello’s hometown of Chicago.
This is only the second time Van Zandt has left the band since joining in 1975. In 1984 he decided to quit the band and pursue a solo career midway through the recording of Born In The USA. He re-joined in 1995 when the group reformed for the Greatest Hits recording sessions.
