Tones And I’s ‘Dance Monkey’ Is Now The Longest Running #1 In ARIA Chart History

It’s been a long time coming, but Tones And I‘s unprecedented success has hit yet another milestone as ‘Dance Monkey’ is now the longest running #1 song in ARIA Chart history. Yep, that’s right – the longest ever.

‘Dance Monkey’ is currently spending its 16th week at the top spot on the charts, beating out the previous record set by Ed Sheeran in 2017 with his song ‘Shape Of You.’

She’s yet to release a statement on the achievement, but that’s no surprise considering all the things she’s got coming up. She is currently touring overseas, has just gone platinum in the UK (where she is also #1) and later this week she’ll be making her late night US TV debut on Jimmy Fallon.

Speaking of the US, ‘Dance Monkey’ is on track to climb the top of those charts as well. The song currently sits at #23, after climbing from #41 last week.

Conversely, The Music Network charts have ‘Dance Monkey’ at #13, while the Ariana Grande-featuring remix of Lizzo’s ‘Good As Hell’ sits firmly at the top spot.
