A full-blown Tony Hawk Pro Skater event will land in Brisbane in late January, with the great man himself set to do a live skating demo on an 11ft ramp in the middle of the Fortitude Music Hall. The day will feature of slew of high-profile skaters, including Lizzie Armanto and 5 time X Games medallist Elliot Sloan.
They’ll be joined by a lineup of acts playing through the classic songs featured in the game’s soundtrack, as well as their own catalogues. Expect sets from Bodyjar, Alex Lahey, Teenage Joans, and a DJ set from DZ Deathrays. There’ll also be a couple of performances from Tony Hawk Pro Skater tribute band Birdman.
Goldfinger: ‘Superman’
It’s all in the name of celebration as the classic skating game turns 25; it’ll take over the Fortitude Music Hall on Saturday, 27th January. If you’re keen to play, there’ll be consoles set up around the venue for you to play the original games on a five-metre video wall.
The day will be split into two: the day session is all-ages, with Teenage Joans, Yours Truly, DZ Deathrays and Birdman appearing, while the 18+ night session will feature Bodyjar, Alex Lahey, and Birdman and DZ’s again.
Hawk previously announced a speaking tour of Australia, appearing at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Friday, 19th January, followed by stops in Melbourne and Brisbane. Check out all the dates below.
