Oof. It’s like Christmas for Tool fans at the moment.
The band’s long, long, long-awaited fifth studio album Fear Inoculum is due out at the end of the month, and today they’ve unveiled the album’s artwork on their Instagram page.
That’s not the only exciting news, though. The band have also shared that Fear Inoculum‘s title track will be released out into the world on Wednesday, 7th August – in other words, tomorrow. Holy shit.
The news comes after what’s already been a pretty big week for the band. Last Friday, after years of holding out on digital formats, Tool’s entire back catalogue hit streaming services. They’ve quickly racked up millions of streams in the few days since abandoning their physical-only stance, with 2001 album Lateralus going on to score the most download album spot on iTunes.
Fear Inoculum is set for a Friday, 30th August release. You’ll be able to pre-order it from the 7th. Back in May, the band debuted two Fear Inoculum tracks – entitled ‘Descending’ and ‘Invincible’ – live at their headline performance at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Jacksonville, Florida.
