Tool Prank Fans By Dropping “New Song” For April Fool’s Day

Tool have continued to mercilessly tease their upcoming new album by pranking fans with a “new song” for April Fool’s Day.

Sharing some in-studio photos over the weekend, the band also stirred The Pot by posting what they said was “a new Tool song”.

The “song” appeared in a video posted to Instagram by guitarist Adam Jones, who told fans, “~ Ok ~ Here’s a new #Tool song,.

“Just recording the Drums w guitar & bass scratch tracks. Don’t judge the sound – it’s not mixed yet…”

The video (below) shows Tool recording in their studio, but doesn’t actually feature any new music.

This isn’t the first time Tool have played with their fans for April Fool’s Day; last year the band claimed that former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar would be stepping in as their new vocalist.

Tool are currently recording the follow-up to their 2006 album 10,000 Days, and recently shared some other videos from their time in the studio.
