Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has announced his triumphant return to the Grammys’ stage — only problem is, it’s with Blurred Lines singer Robin Thicke and Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull, for some reason.
Barker, who famously performed with rappers Lil Wayne, Eminem and Drake at The Grammys in 2010 and with LL Cool J and a bunch of others in 2013, has taken to Instagram to announced that he’s “headed back to rock the Grammys” with his new pals Thicke and Pitbull this year, but he’s remaining tight-lipped on what the trio will perform.
Posting to Facebook, Thicke has suggested that Aerosmith’s Joe Perry might be involved in the performance as well, and Perry has confirmed on Twitter that he is somehow linked to Thicke’s appearance, which (if true) could make Barker’s onstage collaboration even weirder.

In a statement, The Grammys say Pitbull, who is nominated in the Best Latin Rock, Urban Or Alternative Album category for Dale this year, will actually by the star of the performance, and will be teaming up “with Travis Barker, Robin Thicke and surprise special guests”.
Aside from Barker and his mates, this year’s Grammy Awards will also feature a tribute to the late David Bowie performed by Lady Gaga, and a tribute to Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister by rock supergroup The Hollywood Vampires.
Other performers on the night include Justin Bieber, Diplo and Skrillex performing Where Are Ü Now, as well as the likes of Adele, James Bay, Andra Day, Ellie Goulding, Kendrick Lamar, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd. The ceremony will take place on Monday, 15th February at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
As for Blink-182, their “great” new album is said to be arriving this year, and this new footage of Barker smashing the skins on a new Blink track is proof that the band are hard at work.
Until that album arrives, get yourself in the mood for Barker’s strange new Grammys collab by reliving his 2010 Grammys performance with Eminem, Lil Wayne and Drake, below.
