Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Take Home Best Original Score Oscar Award

They’ve done it again. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have taken home the Oscar Award for Best Original Score for their work on Soul.

It’s been 11 years since the pair originally won the award for the The Social Network score. Now, they’ve won it again, this time for the Soul score.

Jon Batiste, band leader from The Late Show has won alongside the pair this time.

They also won Best Original Score for Soul at the Golden Globes back in March.

The Disney Pixar film, Soul also won an Oscar Award for Best Animated Feature Film. It was nominated for Best Sound as well but lost to Sound of Metal.

Soul follows the story of a jazz musician who finally gets his big break out of his boring job. He lands himself in the Great Before accidentally though and has to help an infant soul to return to back to his own reality.

Jon Batiste becomes only the second Black composer to win the award in its 86 year history.
