triple j Hottest 100 2011: 50 Songs Down – 50 To Go

We’re 50 songs in to this year’s triple j Hottest 100 Countdown, and so far it’s shaping up pretty nicely. Aussie artists are featuring thoroughly in the mix, with tracks from Kimbra, Seeker Lover Keeper, 360, Busby Marou, Pnau, Drapht, Jebediah, New Navy, Owl Eyes, Washington, Stonefield, The Grates and Architecture In Helsinki grabbing places throughout the first half of the list.

Foo Fighters have managed to knock off Powderfinger to claim the most amount of songs ever voted into the Hottest 100 countdowns over the years. After Powderfinger held the record, with 20 songs. Fighters now have 21 with their singles, Rope coming in at 63 and Arlandria slotting in at 97 today.

Bon Iver placed three songs, with Calgary #69, Perth at #66 and Holocene at #53.
