Triple J have finally revealed the results of their 2019 album poll and, notably, the majority of the albums that made the list are by women.
Topping the list is, unsurprisingly, Billie Eilish‘s stellar debut When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?. Featuring two tracks that made last year’s Hottest 100, and at least one track that could top this year’s, it is hard to imagine Triple J fans voting anything else at the top spot.
But, for the first time, the entire top three albums were all made by solo female artists. G Flip’s debut album About Us came in at second place and Thelma Plum’s debut Better In Blak came in at third.
Other female artists on the list include Stella Donnelly’s Beware Of The Dogs at #5, Lana Del Rey’s Norman Fucking Rockwell! at #8 and Angie McMahon’s Salt at #10.
The other places in the list were taken by Tyler, The Creator’s IGOR (#4), Holy Holy’s My Own Pool of Light (#5), Catfish And The Bottlemen’s The Balance (#7) and Hilltop Hoods’ The Great Expanse (#9).
