Radio host/TV host/actual angel Linda Marigliano has just launched a new podcast that aims to inspire and bring comfort to women everywhere by sharing insights on love and “all the shit that counts”.
Dubbed Tough Love, the audio-journal serves up a real time chronicle of her own personal experiences figuring out life after COVID trashed her plans, while using them to explore “the challenges women face together but generally experience alone”.
Dropping fortnightly, Tough Love will see Marigliano delve into the complexities of managing a long-distance relationship, leaving her career-defining path in radio, moving to LA with her American partner Magnus (before returning after the pandemic reared its ugly head), then moving back in with her parents and freezing her eggs with Magnus by her side — via FaceTime.
“This is – by far – the most honest project I’ve ever done,” she explains.
“One moment, it feels hilarious and the next, it feels scary as f**k! I started making this podcast as I wanted to take risks and confront issues that make us (well, women like us) feel uncomfortable. And most importantly, I’ve realised how amazing it is to learn together and share these challenging, yet formative experiences.”
Marigliano will be welcoming a bunch of guests along the way including sexologists, media personalities and her closest friends (including triple j alum Lewis McKirdy) will pop in to help her unpack the big ideas that many women face, “from family dynamics, relationships with self to the intersection of identity and career”.
Tough Love comes hot on the heels of Marigliano’s Inspired music podcast, which hit #1 here in Australia.
You can listen to the first episode right the hell now.
