Triple J’s Gen Fricker Makes First Statement Since Alleged Stalker Assault At ABC

Triple j Lunch host Gen Fricker has made her first public statement since a terrifying ordeal earlier this month which saw her allegedly assaulted by a stalker, who managed to gain entry into the ABC‘s Ultimo studio by tailgating an employee through security.

Fricker has yet to return to work following the nightmarish encounter, but she’s now taken to Instagram to update fans with how she’s coping and thank “everyone who’s reached out over the past few weeks”.

“Right now I feel like I’m relearning how to be in the world and it’s an excruciatingly slow process but I’m trying to do the things I can,” the professional funnylady writes.

“I’m not sure about the future, but right now, I am grateful and ok.”

The 31-year-old suspect, Wollongong man Kieren Gallagher, has since been arrested and charged with multiple offences — including stalk/intimidate with the intent to cause fear, trespass and common assault — after he allegedly managed to grab and kiss Fricker while she was live on air.

Fairfax claims to have seen court documents that further allege Gallagher had actually been stalking Fricker since May “with the intention of causing her physical or mental harm”.

Though Fricker has yet to return to her gig on triple j since the incident, she has appeared on the show Have You Been Paying Attention? and performed at a series of stand-up comedy gigs.

Sending her lots of love during this awful time.
