Speaking of Lorde, whose 2013 album Pure Heroine is no doubt rife with Hottest 100 contenders, has put her vote behind two Daft Punk tracks in her top ten list. The Royals singer named the frenchmen’s smash summer hit Get Lucky and their collab with Panda Bear Doin’ It Right as some of her top contending songs of the year. Other acts that have offered up their top ten lists include Flight Facilities, Jagwar Ma, Bring Me The Horizon, Pond, RUFUS, MSMR and The Wombats.
Hip hop sensation Macklemore & Ryan Lewis took top spot on the 2012 Hottest 100 poll with their smash hit Thrift Shop. The pair beat out Of Monsters And Men‘s Little Talks and Alt j‘s Breezeblocks. Other past winners of the popular poll include Queens Of The Stone Age with No One Knows in 2002, Powderfinger with both My Happiness (2000) and These Days (1999) and who could forget ol’ Dennis Leary and his track Asshole which scored the number one position in 1993.
Those who offer up their votes for this year’s poll go into the running to win triple j‘s ‘Golden Ticket’, which (as its name suggests, Wonka fans) gets you and a lucky friend into every triple j supported festival and gig in 2014. Voting closes midday Monday 20th January 2014. So go, get shortlisting!
