Big news for Trophy Eyes fans! The band’s much-loved frontman, John Floreani, has today announced his debut solo album sin. In case that wasn’t enough, he’s also dropped the music video for the album’s first single ‘Echoes.’
The 8-track album is the follow up to his 2014 EP Terrace. But don’t expect your standard searing Trophy Eyes sound – a statement describes the album as taking musical influences from all over – “indie pop to alt-folk to Americana.” Floreani says the album “serves as an authentic, deep knee jerk reaction to the shallow lyrical themes of modern pop.“
As for ‘Echoes’, it’s a bloody huge lead single and one that’s going to pull fans right in with its anthemic chorus.
“Echoes is about the memories, love and emotion one leaves behind in a home after moving on,” Floreani said in a statement.
“My partner and I lived in North Sydney for a while, and when she moved back to Texas, I had to go and clear the house of our furniture and belongings. As I walked through the house, I could see her dancing in the kitchen, drinking wine on the couch and inviting me to bed from the hallway.”
sin is out Friday, 7th June via Hopeless Records.
