Alexisonfire may have said they were back together 4 realz and would never hurt us again, but it turns out those jerks were just telling us what we wanted to hear.
“Thank you for believing in this band when we couldn’t even believe in this band. Thank you for sticking with us. We promise to never leave you again. No more sentimental shit. Alexisonfire is officially back.”
…the band have now taken a giant steaming deuce upon those sweet words, clarifying their current levels of commitment in an official statement via Facebook:
“It was an unforgettable summer. All of us are extremely grateful to have such loyal and dedicated fans who were willing to stick with us. That being said, we feel the need to clarify something.
‘Alexisonfire is officially back’ may well be true, but it seems some may be reading more into this than they should. The truth is, nothing has really changed. We all have our own careers and families which require our attention and as far as Alexisonfire is concerned, there are no immediate plans.
What “Alexisonfire is back” does mean is that the 5 of us are back in each other’s lives and are as good friends now as we’ve ever been. If we’re lucky, we’ll see you out there again. Thank you for sharing in the moment with us.”
In short, they just want to keep things super casual right now, meaning that, when they said they’d never leave us again, they were really only after a quick roll in the dirt, just like all the others!
Looks like you won’t be needing THIS
But speaking of rolls in the dirt, the Canadian post-hardcore legends still haven’t announced any Australian shows since they came back from a four-year hiatus, which means they still could be in with a shot of playing Soundwave 2016 and reliving the filthy Sydney shenanigans of 2010, which you can check out in the gallery below.
