Every self-respecting 90’s kid’s favourite non-Backstreet boyband 5ive could have turned out very differently if perhaps Russell Brand had laid off the uppers.
The cheeky British LOLsmith has revealed that he originally tried out for the ‘Everybody Get Up’ singers, but missed out on the gig, at least partially because he rocked up to the audition off his chops on methamphetamines.
As Brand tells Carpool Karaoke dude James Corden in a recent interview on his Late Late Show, he performed Extreme’s classic acoustic ballad ‘More Than Words’ in front of a bunch of Simon Cowell types but it — uh — didn’t quite score him a touchdown.
