Sydney’s annual Twilight At Taronga series will return this coming summer for its 20th anniversary edition and has today announced the eclectic musical program filled with artists who will take the stage at the iconic Taronga Zoo each Friday and Saturday night from January 30th through to March 21st 2015.
The 2015 lineup includes a slew of notable Australian artists including Powderfinger’s Bernard Fanning, Paul Kelly who will be presenting his Merri Soul Sessions, as well as You Am I, Sarah Blasko, Dan Sultan, The Beautiful Girls, The Bamboos and Something For Kate.
The international guest contingent will be lead by Glaswegian indie pop heroes Belle and Sebastian, Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst as well as multifaceted singer, songwriter and composer Rufus Wainwright.
“It’s the first time in our history that we’re introducing big-name international and contemporary artists to complement our regular favourites and we hope this will pique the interest of younger festival-goers while keeping our regular patrons coming back for more,” said Paul Davies, Taronga’s General Manager Marketing, Fundraising and Commercial Services.
Fan favourites ABBA tribute act Bjorn Again will also perform as will international jazz legend James Morrison and his Big Band. Anthony Callea will celebrate the songs of George Michael while Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock frontman Ross Wilson and Mental As Anything will take the stage on the event’s final night.
Tickets to all events will go on sale at 9:00am on Friday 31st October via Twilight At Taronga. Free public transport is included in the price of all tickets covering bus, rail, light rail and ferry from Sydney metropolitan areas. Profits from the series continues to support the Taronga Conservation Society Australia.
