You Need To Watch These Twin Brothers’ Reaction To Hearing Phil Collins For The First Time

Twin brothers Tim and Fred Williams have spent the past year or so filming reaction videos that see them listen to popular songs for the first time. Frequently-watched videos on their YouTube channel capture their first time hearing Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’, The Carpenters’ ‘We’ve Only Just Begun’ and ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Whitney Houston.

Over the weekend, the pair were catapulted into viral fame after a video that sees them reacting to Phil Collins‘ 1981 hit ‘In the Air Tonight’ was shared widely on the internet. Which makes a lot of sense, because it’s a truly joyous, wonderful piece of content at a time when it’s increasingly difficult to find.

The duo are immediately intrigued by the track’s instrumental, nodding their heads in approval as Collins begins to sing, offering a stray “yeah” or “okay” throughout its opening verse. ‘Phil Collins, man. He killing it,” declares Fred a few minutes in.

Of course, the biggest reaction arrives during the song’s legendary drum fill, which comes around five minutes into the video. The brothers stare at each other with amazement and begin absolutely vibing out. Fred goes on to explain, “I’ve never seen nobody drop a beat three minutes into a song.”

It’s a truly magical clip, one that beautifully articulates the power of connecting to a song on first listen – and a great reminder of the jaw-dropping response that Collins’ drum break almost ubiquitously conjures. At time of writing, the video has racked up 2.6 million views on YouTube.
