This Friday, Two Door Cinema Club drop the new album many fans have been hanging out for, in False Alarm. The Grapevine Gathering headliners have been drumming up hype for the album over their last few single releases, marking each with vibrant music videos and socials to match.
Now, with only a day to go until release day, Two Door Cinema Club have shared a new single with us in ‘Once. The shimmering synthpop gem is another indicator of the creative direction the band has gone in on their new record, an example of the dabbling and experimenting they’ve been doing in a decidedly more pop realm.
“The phrase ‘Once in a lifetime’ came out in conversation and I started questioning, what does that mean anymore?” Alex Trimble has said of the track. “When everything is captured on a camera or viewed through a screen, and if you can watch it a million times over, is it once in a lifetime? There’s also this idea that you are a product, everyone’s building their brand.”
If ‘Once’ is up your alley and it’s got you wanting more Two Door Cinema Club action, you’ll have your chance (if you’re on the east coast, anyway) tonight and tomorrow, with a run of exclusive album listening parties being announced for Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
You’ll be able to go into a draw to win False Alarm on vinyl, not to mention a double pass to the 2019 Grapevine Gathering, going down in November. Want in?
