The insanely froth-worthy lineup for the 2017 UNIFY Gathering has just expanded by one.
The cherry on top of next year’s bill comes in the form of triple j Unearthed winners Pagan, a four-piece from Melbourne who describe themselves as “blackened rock & roll”.
The young upstarts have been hand-picked to open up the fest, and test their mettle metal onstage with the likes of Aussie and international heavyweights Alexisonfire, Violent Soho, Northlane, Every Time I Die, The Getaway Plan, House Vs Hurricane, Letlive., Thy Art Is Murder plus loads more stellar heavy AF acts.
The addition of the female-fronted Pagan also helps sway the perceived gender imbalance that saw UNIFY cop some flak earlier in the year ever-so-slightly, with the ratio of male-to-female musos on the lineup now swelling from 117:2 to 120:3.
Pagan’s addition to the 2017 festival was announced on triple J’s short.fast.loud program tonight, which also gave their absolute screamer of a new track Luigi Cherubini a spin (blast it below).
ICYMI: I Killed The Prom Queen recently pulled the plug on their slot at UNIFY 2017, and have since been replaced by iconic Aussie punk rock veterans Bodyjar.
Now bigger than ever, UNIFY Gathering 2017 will be a two-night, three-day affair going down at the stunning Tarwin Meadows in Gippsland from Friday, 13th January until Sunday, 15th January.
