Urthboy, Jess Ribeiro & The Bone Collectors Shortlisted For Coopers Amp 8th Australian Music Prize

The Coopers Amp team are super stoked to announce the addition of prominent Sydney MC Urthboy and Darwin-based rising stars Jess Ribeiro & The Bone Collectors to the Amp Alive bill and their 8th Australian Music Prize. Both acts are locked in to perform at the free event taking place at Melbourne’s Federation Square on February 1st.

Out of a massive 71 possible artists equalling a crazy 300 fresh Aussie releases, Jess Ribeiro & The Bone Collectors were hand-picked to feature on the day. Their debut full-length My Little River stood head and shoulders above the rest. Hitting shelves back in May of 2012, the album earned the outfit the Jagermeister AIR award for Best Independent Country Album, and wears a cool 4 out of 5 stars, thanks to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Urthboy continues to grow from strength to strength, as evident in his fourth and latest solo effort Smokey’s Haunt. Dropped back in October of last year, the album is still pretty fresh from the print and features a horde of guest artists, including Alex Burnett of Sparkadia fame and the one and only Daniel Merriweather.

Also appearing on the night will be guest hosts and Australian music royalty Clare Bowditch and Kevin Mitchell. Both Urthboy and Jess Ribeiro & The Bone Collectors will be sharing the stage with the legendary Hermitude boys.

Keep those eyes pealed for more artists that are yet to be announced.
