US Rapper Hopsin Racks Up $6K Phone Bill After Giving His Number To Fans

Los Angeles MC Hopsin just wants to get closer to his fans. So much so that he handed them his phone number and asked them to text him with the promise that he’d give them a buzz back. Turns out, throwing out your phone number out on the internet is, shall we say, a bold move, and one that might have backfired here.

According to a photo posted by the MC on his Facebook page (below), his telephonic reach-out plan has has proved a bit costly, saddling him with a bill in the $6,0000 region. “Man U gotta be fuckin kidding me! Holy fuck, MY PHONE BILL IS 6 thousand fuckin dollars!! What the FUCK was i thinking. Kill me now.” What the fuck indeed.

His label, Funk Volume, which Hopsin co-owns, shared the same photo. “Giving Hopsin a phone number for his fans was GOOD and BAD,” read the label’s caption. “The BAD was that our phone bill was over $6,000 for 3 days of usage!!! smdh The GOOD is that close to 400K people texted and 400K people called.”

Someone’s even already started a GoFundMe page to help Hopsin pay his $6,0000 bill. Understandably, it’s raised exactly $0 so far so.

It seems not everyone believed that 360’s former tour mate had provided his actual digits, prompting him to post a series of bizarre videos showing him calling fans and answering their questions.

Look, this is the same dude whose declaration that he was quitting rap and moving to Australia turned out to be completely bogus, so let’s take this one with a hefty grain of salt. But, if you’re inclined to believe him, you can add your details to his phonebook and help Hopsin rack up those international roaming fees.
