Vampire Weekend have announced that they will be kicking on from their Falls Festival 2013 and Southbound commitments with a run of headlining Australian tour date, which will see the band grace stages in both Melbourne and Sydney.
Vampire Weekend are no strangers to our stages, in festival form or otherwise, and we can expect them in some fine form. The band’s current album Modern Vampires of the City was released back in May of this year, and Australians took to the release particularly well. It hit #7 on the ARIA and the Americans took it to #1, making it the 2nd album from the band to achieve the status of chart-topper after 2010’s Contra.
Since then, the band have been hard at it on the highways of both North America and Europe where they have been zigzagging their way through the Northern Hemisphere’s summer festival circuit. Their performances have resonated amongst punters as some of the finest acts to have taken to the stages of these events, adding even more anticipation to their slot at Falls Festival and Southbound.
These shows will sell out, so don’t leave it until the last minute.
