It’s a given that the weather’s going to be quite warm when the Vans Warped Tour hits Australia in late November. But now the festival has devised a way to reward philanthropic festival-goers with priority entry to shows, so they don’t have to bake in the heat with the rest of the chumps your fellow punters.
The Feed Our Children Now! organisation will be collecting donations outside the venue gates, at Skip The Line booths. Fans who donate three cans of food or $5 will receive a pass to skip the entrance queues and receive early admission through the gates.
Festival founder Kevin Lyman has spoken about the initiative, saying, “This program has become so successful on the US tour that when given a chance to continue this on our Australia run we felt we had to. Hunger is universal, and if our fans can help minimize it, it makes it all the more worth-while to do what we do.”
The Vans Warped Tour Australia 2013 lineup features headline performances from Offspring and The Used, and kicks off on 29th November at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds. Full tour details are below.
