Watch A Fan Sing With Foo Fighters, Impress Dave Grohl

Impressing Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl isn’t an easy task, but a Foos fan by the name of Brian has done just that by showing the world his rock’n’roll skills and fronting the band for a cover of the Rush classic, Tom Sawyer.

As Reddit user Venius157 pointed out, the Foos’ recent show in Edmonton, Canada, saw Grohl tell the crowd to remind him towards the end of their set that they needed to play Tom Sawyer. Foos fans, of course, didn’t forget, and chanted for the track as the second last song of the set.

As footage of the moment (below) shows, Grohl told the crowd he couldn’t remember all the lyrics to the song, and called for anyone who knows the lyrics and can sing to come forward.

So, big-lungs-Brian was pulled up to the stage and Grohl imparted some words of wisdom. “Brian, don’t fuck it up,” he said. “Welcome to my nightmare.”

Old mate Brian didn’t fuck anything up, and actually belted out the track and all its high notes to Grohl’s amusement, leaving him suitably impressed.

“That was fucking amazing! Holy shit. I don’t even know how to follow that shit,” Grohl told the crowd.

So could Dave Grohl be out of a job? Probably not, but at least he knows he’s not the only one who can make a cover his own. Watch Brian do his thing with the Foos, below.

Elsewhere in the world of Foos fans doing impressive things, a group of 1000 people have covered Foo Fighters’ Learn To Fly, leaving Grohl to grant them their wish of a Foos show.
