Baltimore’s All Time Low were forced off the main festival stage at Soundwave in Sydney yesterday after a severe storm damaged their equipment “beyond repair”, but the pop punk foursome proved it would take more than a little rain to stop them.
As reported yesterday, despite the damage to their gear caused by the storm, the band’s frontman Alex Gaskarth jumped back on stage to lead fans in an a cappella rendition of the band’s track Weightless as well as some of Queen’s We Will Rock You, and now footage of the performance has emerged online.
The storm that travelled through Sydney yesterday wrecked havoc on two festivals, temporarily shutting down Soundwave stages and forcing the shut-down and evacuation of the under-18’s music festival Good Life.
Throughout the entire ordeal at Soundwave, All Time low remained positive, with lead-guitarist Jack Barakat tweeting, “Minus getting cut, our set at Sydney Soundwave today is what I dreamed about as a kid in a band. Rain, Nudity, Moshpits, Crowd-Surfing. Epic.”
“I remember watching videos of Green Day at Woodstock with mud flying everywhere. This is the closest I’ll get to that,” he added.
Barakat also reiterated hints that the band would be back soon for another Australian tour soon.
