Andrew W.K. was bottled on several occasions during his shambolic set at yesterday’s opening leg of the Groovin’ The Moo festival in Bendigo.
In what I could honestly say was one of the worst performances I’ve seen by any artist at a festival, fans turned on Mr. W.K. as he pounded away franticly at his keyboard, slurred his vocals, screamed repeatedly and ran around on the stage like a maniac. It was hard to distinguish a single word he was singing. The only positive thing that went in his favour was that he started a few fight circles – letting some punters let off some steam.
Mr. W.K. constantly mentioned how he was here to “party hard in Australia”, repeatedly called punters “fuckers”, and at one stage told those booing him to “go home to their mothers.” It was something to behold for all the wrong reasons.
And, what’s even more bizarre is that Mr. WK urged people to “bring it on” and keep hurling stuff his way – as shown in this short video below that was sent to us.
Music Feeds will be heading along to the Maitland and Canberra legs of the festival later this month – so we’ll see if Andrew. W.K. acts just as bizarre then.
