Watch Camp Cope’s Final Ever Show At The Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House have shared the full multi-cam footage of Camp Cope‘s final ever show, which took place at the House’s Concert Hall this past October. The performance, which took place as part of the Opera House’s 50th anniversary, including a mix of songs from all three of the band’s studio albums: 2016’s Camp Cope, 2018’s How to Socialise and Make Friends and 2022’s Running with the Hurricane.

In a press statement, the band’s drummer Sarah Thompson expressed how she and her bandmates were “so happy that [the show] was captured to share with you.” “It was such a special night with the room being filled with people from all around Australia, as well as people who traveled from all over the world,” she said.

“Camp Cope fans have always been the reason we have loved playing live, and this night was no different. You made it a show – and career – we will never forget. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support over the past 8 years, none of this could’ve happened without you.”

Camp Cope Played Their Final Show In October 2023 After Eight Years And Three Albums

The core trio of Thompson, lead vocalist/guitarist Georgia Maq and bassist Kelly-Dawn Hellmrich were joined on the night by touring guitarist/keyboardist Jenny Anslett (formerly of San Cisco and Boat Show). Julia Jacklin also joined the group for guest vocals on ‘The Screaming Planet’, and a choir of the band’s family and friends joined them on-stage for ‘Sing Your Heart Out’.

The trio’s final song performed was their signature song ‘The Opener’, which began with Maq solo at the piano sharing new verses to the song and ended with Jacklin and Melbourne singer-songwriter Rin McArdle joining the band on guitar.

The Melbourne band initially announced their split almost exactly a year ago on February 8th, 2023. They performed at that year’s Brunswick Music Festival alongside Barkaa at the Estonian House and at that year’s Adelaide Festival. A Brisbane show was planned, but ultimately converted into a solo show for Maq after her bandmates fell ill.
