How good is Charli XCX and how good are mashups?
Well, you’ll be stoked to here that Charli went on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform a fun AF mashup.
The pair did XCX and Icona Pop’s ‘I Love It’ while Fallon took on Depeche Mode’s ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’.
XCX had been on The Tonight Show a week prior to perform ‘Gone’ with Christine and The Queens.
The skit starts with Fallon dressed as Dave Gahan, singing the 1981 hit through a VHS filter. Then the camera pans to Charli singing ‘I Love It’ before they launch in and ~mash it up~.
As you could’ve guessed, Queen of Pop, XCX smashed her part. She delivered an impeccable performance of the 2012 hit, which she co-wrote.
Fallon is, ahhh, surprisingly good? We know he does some good impressions but his Dave Gahan one? Yeah, pretty good. Both songs are iconic, full of energy, and just all-round bangers. They actually work so well together.
