Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, was joined by Chance The Rapper during his show at Chicago’s Riviera Theatre on Wednesday night, and the two young wordsmiths went all-out with an impressive ten-minute session of freestyle rap.
According to NME, Chance and Gambino played their collaborative singles The Worst Guys (from Gambino’s 2013 album Because The Internet) and Favourite Song (from Chance’s 2013 LP Acid Rap) before launching into a back-and-forth display of rap prowess. Check out the footage below.
Complex are reporting that the pair were also joined mid-freestyle by Gambino’s younger brother Steve G. Another special guest on the night was rising talent Vic Mensa, who opened the show. Gambino later thanked his guests and his Chicago fans via Twitter, saying: “Thanks to Chicago. That was deep.”
