Making their way up from Melbourne this week, Dirt Farmer are launching their debut single Johnny Marble at Oxford Art Factory this Saturday, and to mark the momentous occasion, we though we’d share their new video with you.
The Melbourne by way of Albury-Wadonga five-piece have been playing since 2010 when brothers Stuart and Thomas Barlow, and friends Chris Wright, Nic Duplex and Patch Oram decided it was time to start a rock and roll band, their bio mentioning something about burning banjo’s and rolling up swag as well. Drawing from the long traditions or rock and pop, their music often likened to everyone from The Brian Jonestown Massacre to The Velvet Underground, both comparisons usually appendixed with ‘but on less smack,’ theirs is a sound drenched in the sunshine that Melbourne so rarely sees, recent heatwaves aside.
The video was directed by She’ll Be Right Productions and be sure to catch it live when they play Oxford Art Factory this Saturday the 13th of August along with The Faults.
