Sydney’s Botany View Hotel has sneakily celebrated its new facelift by throwing a monster live music double-header this past weekend, with secret shows from local party-starters DMA’s and Canadian rockers Japandroids.
The bar was full for the King Street haunt’s big relaunch, which comes on the heels of some smexy new renos including the addition of a rooftop bar and a huge mural by graffiti artist Sofles.
The live music bastion will continue to keep the tunes pumping with band lineups every Friday and Saturday night curated by Music Booze & Co’s Matt Rule, and the founder of its Bourke Street operators Paddy Coughlan has teased some more big surprises in the coming weeks.
“Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting our latest venue over the weekend,” he says in a statement.
“Special thanks to DMA’s and Japandroids. We’re looking forward to the next three weeks too. We’ve got some great live gigs planned.”
Keen to see what other tricks they have up their sleeve.
In the meantime you can catch some footage of DMA’s and Japandroids’ sets from this past weekend, below.
