Watch Eagles Of Death Metal Make A Tearful Return To Paris’s Bataclan Theatre Following Terrorist Attacks

Eagles Of Death Metal have made an emotional return to the scene of the November 13th attacks that saw 90 of their fans killed by terrorists.

Lead singer Jesse Hughes broke down in tears as he stood before the sea of floral tributes outside Paris’s Bataclan Theatre, where his band’s concert was interrupted by gunmen, less than one month ago.

And although seeing footage of Boots Electric overcome with grief and sorrow is nothing short of heartbreaking, the whole encounter is underpinned by a powerful message of love and hope.

EODM took to Facebook to address their poignant return to Paris, which included their first performance in the French capital since the tragedy – joining U2 on stage during their show at AccorHotels Arena.

“We want to offer our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for everything our brothers in U2 did for us in the aftermath of the November 13 attacks,” the band wrote. “They reminded us that the bad guys never take a day off, and therefore we rock ’n rollers cannot either…and we never will.

“We are incredibly grateful to U2 for providing us the opportunity to return to Paris so quickly, and to share in the healing power of rock ‘n roll with so many of the beautiful people – nos amis – of this great city.

“Thank you to Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam, thank you to their wonderful management, thank you to France, and thank you to everyone in the world who continues to prove that love, joy, and music will always overcome terror and evil. We look forward to fighting the good fight on many more fronts very soon, especially when we pick up our tour in 2016.”

They concluded: “See you again in February, Paris,” which possibly indicates that the second month of next year is when the band plans to make good on their pledge to return to The Bataclan and finish the show.

During their performance with U2, they performed their Zipper Down cut, I Love You All the Time, which they’ve been asking bands around the world to cover to help raise money for the Paris victims.

Here in Australia, Melbourne rock den Cherry Bar has announced an EODM-themed charity night, with all proceeds to go towards the same cause.
