WATCH: ‘Ed Force Once’ In Action As Iron Maiden Arrive In Brisbane

Brisbane Iron Maiden fans rejoice – you’re currently sharing the same air as the UK rock gods themselves. The band have touched down this evening all aboard the fabled Ed Force One.

With the fearless cap’n Bruce Dickinson at the helm, Iron Maiden flew in from two shows in Auckland as they gallivant their way throughout the Southern Hemisphere in the good name of Rock n’ Roll. The band are travelling aboard the absolutely massive 747-400 with crew and their stage production and equipment, so their either keeping costs real low – or blowing them through the roof.

Either way, they look damn good doing it. This is the bands first Aussie headline run since 2011. Since then, they’ve dropped The Book of Souls which hit #2 on the our charts.

A crowd of about 100 devotees gathered at Brissy airport to catch the sight. Speaking to Brisbane Times, one such devote Dan Taylor explained he’d actually spent time within the cabins of Ed Force One in Europe after winning a competition, adding “Not many bands have these sorts of resources, but it helps them get around. They’ve been going for so long, but they’re able to go anywhere in that thing, like China last week, which they’d never been to before.

After Brisbane, the band kick on down the coast before wrapping things up in Perth.
