Faith No More hit vintage fans with a dose of nostalgia this week, reuniting with their former singer Chuck Mosley at a show in Detroit for a performance of their 1985 song Mark Bowen.
Video footage of the admittedly shakey performance can be seen below and also features current frontman Mike Patton smiling from side of stage, probably with the knowledge that his position in the band is well secure.
Mosley fronted Faith No More from 1984 to 1988, featuring on albums We Care A Lot and Introduce Yourself, but was replaced by Patton in 1988 under messy circumstances. Now though, it appears everyone has made amends.
Faith No More will release Sol Invictus, their first album in 18 years, this Friday May 15th. We’ve already heard a handful of tracks from the Soundwave 2015 headliners’ new album, including Superhero, Cone Of Shame and Motherfucker.
The album will be released via current singer Mike Patton’s own label, Ipecac Records. Drummer Mike Bordin told Music Feeds recently that had the band been beholden to a major label’s demands, its likely the album would have never eventuated.
“I don’t believe we would have done it, had we have been in that traditional model… Slavery, whatever you wanna call it,” he said. “I don’t think we would have done it ’cause it wouldn’t have been that interesting.”
