Watch Fontaines D.C.’s Reimagined Performance Of ‘I Was Not Born’ At Their Local Pub

Fontaines D.C. have returned to their roots, performing a special one-off performance at their old stomping ground, The Lexington pub in North London.

It’s in honour of Jim Beam’s ‘Welcome Sessions’, a new concert series reuniting global musicians with the independent venues that started it all for a special one-off performance, captured on camera.

The venue played a seminal role in the Grammy-nominated Irish band’s early career, playing host to some of their first gigs outside of their homeland in the years following their formation in 2017.

And to celebrate, they have returned to the stage to deliver a reimagined take of their 2020 single ‘I Was Not Born’ off their Grammy-nominated second album, A Hero’s Death.

Fontaines D.C.’s Conor Curley says: “It’s refreshing to be back at The Lexington, which has a particular romance that reminds us of when we started out. Memories of this place are all about the people within it. The moment when crowds fill the space and surround the stage. That feeling of belonging and never being alone that music gives us as performers and audience members.”

Fans can watch the performance exclusively via Jim Beam’s official YouTube channel.

Following that, you can watch English singer-songwriter Jack Garratt opening Jim Bean’s Welcome Sessions with a captivating performance of his track ‘Time’ at the beloved independent East London venue, Village Underground.
