Ex-Fear Factory member Christian Olde Wolbers has staked his claim to be the new bass player in Machine Head, posting an audition video on YouTube.
The Dutch-born musician – who was bass player for nine years (1993-2002) and guitarist for six years until his departure in 2008 – is now in with a shot of joining the band for their performances on the Mayhem! Festival Tour throughout the North American summer. You can watch his video at the bottom of the page.
Machine Head have introduced the public audition contest following the departure of former bass player Adam Duce at the end of last month.
Auditionees are being asked to post a video clip of them singing and playing bass along to three of their more popular tracks: This Is The End, Halo and Beautiful Mourning.
Machine Head will then make a shortlist for the next round, which is a face-to-face audition. After that, who knows, you could be on your way to living the heavy metal dream. More information on the application process can be found here.
